How much do you pay for extra luggage (when its weight exceeds the limit) when you travel by plane?

Oh perfect question for me cuz I always seem to have a massive suitcase with me that manages to get one of those huge pink stickers that says "heavy"!!!! I usually go out with about 26/27kgs & god knows coming back!

The funny thing is I have NEVER been charged - I know coming back from Kusadasi in September was nervewrecking cause me & Mandy were SOOOOO over but she kept the "male" desk clerk talking & fluttered her eyebrows a bit & I loaded the belt without him even taking note ! LOL

Depends of the country of the airport i think.

But usually i had to pay 5 € per kilo. Means, last time me and my friend were 10 kilo extra luggage, we had to pay 50 €!

my mum had about 10 kilos over, she had to pay £85, ridiculous! and that wa sa long haul flight.
check ur tickets, it should say in small print, it depends wher ur going and which airline ur flying with

2 weeks ago i paid 50€ for excessive luggage, they told me 5€ per kg , it was 13kg more but they only calculated 10kg it was turkish airline ,amsterdam-istanbul flight... i couldnt leave all the nice sweet things,choclates and some more food which i cant find at Turkey 73 kg half of it only was food

Yea, I believe its something between 5 and 8 euros per kg depending on the airline
and Serhat.. I know EXACTLY what you mean! I bet everybody's luggage is 50% chocolates when they travel back home from there

Until now, i have never paid for extra-luggage
Each time i always have about 25 kgs in my suitcase (for 20 kgs authorized) for luggage compartment and about 10 kgs in a rucksack like handbag.

Unfortunatly, with the new security rules, i think next time, i won't have the choice : to pay
because it's not possible to take less luggages !!!!!!!!!!!!

normally it is around £4~£7 per kilo you are over depending on the airline you are travelling with. they also will not accept any suitcases over the weight of 32 kilo as the baggae handlers refuse to lift them. most airlines will let you away with some excess luggage unless they have one of their managers hanging around at the back.

sometimes you are best to be first in the que to check in because they let you away with it or if you are last they know how many others have had heavy or light luggage, also if you are last you have more chance of extra leg room seats for free!!!! they leave allocating these til last incase anyone wants to pay for them hehehehe
