    Hi everybody!

I hear from lots of people that food and especially drink prices have gone up very much from 2004. Some bar and restaurant owners told them that te excange rate is changed and that the prices are not much different than last year (Efes was 4YTL when 1euro was 1.6 YTL and now is 5YTL but euro is now 1.75YTL, that is about 15% rise in prices).

If the food prices are much more expensive than last year I must consider dinner in hotel (100 euro for two persons, for 10 days), but I don't like to dinner in hotel... (I know some prices from last year). Does anybody have some prices from restaurants or snack bars (for dinner I prefer only sandwich or little pizza). We don't drink too much - maybe one beer daily and the rest we will buy in market (water, juice...).

If it is not that dramatic I rather would not pay for dinner in hotel if I can get some snack, pizza or sandwich for 3-5 euro per person (without a drink of course).

    Thanks to all!

Looking at the costs you mentioned Cozmo you will be able to eat for those prices if you use Turkish restaurants such as Bulbul , Alo24 and a number of others. I think you may find that if you choose to use the tourist type reastaurants you could well pay considerably more, but it's really a case of shopping around. Hope this helps mate.

    Thanks!

Lunch is not a problem (I mean in terms of spending money)smile.gif I was just in doubt for dinner - I think it is better to have an option to choose food other than hotel menu, because hotel offers 5 euros for dinner per person... seeing your posts it is better to eat some dinner snack in the town, it will be the same price but better (various) food... and I like to try everything:) I've already like Greece and Italian kitchen, now it is time for Turkey:)

    regards to all!:)
