    My/Our Holiday Opinion:

This was our very 1st time going 2 Turkey, so we didnt really know what 2 expect. However, now that we have been there, we cant wait 2 book another holiday 2 Kusadasi again. WE LOVED IT SO MUCH. It was without a doubt the best time of our lives.

The people at the Cankaya hotel were so welcoming and helpful, especially Alan and 'Elvis'. Although the steep walk to the hotel and the breakfast didnt always excite us, we certainly wouldnt mind staying there again.

Kusadasi itself is exciting, different, colourful, lively, cheap and the people r lovely, charming, talkative and sooo funny. The people in town got 2 know us and would often yell out 'INDIAN GIRLS', everytime they saw us, and we usually got a free drink of apple tea or coke etc.

We often ate at a bar in the centre of town called MURPHY'S. The food was lovely, and u definetly get value 4 money (they gave u so much on a plate!). The people in this restaurant were so friendly and talkative that we couldnt stay away, especially Ibraham, Minty, Ronnie, Sean, Eddie, Ruth, Faisal, Aiden, Sabastien, Matt the shark and Mustafa. After eating there, they would often come 2 a bar called Paddies (on Bar Street) with us, which is VERY lively and the music is brilliant, (u cant help but learn and join in with all the dance moves).

WHAT MADE US LAUGH:- people on Bar Street, trying anything 2 get u into their bar, often tempting u with buy 1 get 1 free drinks (keep bugging them 4 long enuff, and they soon give u the 1st drink free and after that buy 1 get 1 free). Also little children coming up 2 u with roses, when u say u dont want 1 they say, its free, when u take it off them, they wait rubbing their fingers together, waiting 4 a tip (cheeky gits). Finally, when people asked us where we were from we'd say England, they keep questioning us (not believeing us) until we told them that our parents were from india, we were born in England. Towards the end of our holiday we just started saying we were from India, cos it was so much less hassle explaining.

THINGS WE TRIED OUT:- ladies beach was lovely and lively but a bit crowded, Paradise beach was nice and quiet (Eddie at Murphy's will take u there and bring u back as long as u buy a meal on the night), Aqua Fantasy was brilliant, definetly worth the money (make sure u take a spare set of clothes). We took an excursion 2 the Greek island of Samos, this was our worst day on holiday, there was nothing 2 see or do there and it was boring and hot, and a waste of our money (stick 2 Kusadasi). Bazaar day (friday) is the best, make sure u keep ur money till then, u will defo c something that u like, even if it is 'GENUINE FAKE' (haha).

For n e 1 considering going 2 Kusadasi, all we can say is U'LL HAVE THE TIME OF UR LIFE, its like nothing u've seen or experienced b4, and u'll come back wanting 2 go again! We had the time of our life and cant wait till we go again next year!
    IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY!

    My/Our Holiday Opinion:

When i first visited kusadasi i stayed at the otel cankaya i enjoyed it so much that i went back seven times in the same year only booking the flight and calling alan who was the maneger at the hotel to book my room the staff are wonderful especially the cleaner who i became friendly with as well as the rest of the staff whom i found to be 100 percent trustworthy on each return visit i was welcomed as a long time friend i always enjoyed my stay both at the hotel and the resort.

That was back in 2002 then last year i went to kusadasi to stay for six and a half months learnt some of the language and am looking forward to going again this year the people were friendly and hospitable okay i admit that on my first visit back in 2002 i was hassled by all the young lads in bar street and the restaurants but on my next and subsequent visits after that there wasnt any pressure if ur polite and firm with them theyre polite back what people as tourists dont understand is thet they have only six months of the year to make a living and they try theyre best to accomplish that turkey is a poor country with regards to money but they are rich in kindness.

my first impression when i landed at izmir airport was where the hell is this place and on the hour long trip into kusadasi i saw some pitiful sights but i found the resort lively and entertaining the beaches were clean and the people friendly i didnt have a problem with the food as theres something for all tastes i found a really nice english restaurant called partners who do the best fish and chips i ever tasted as well as full english breakfast with proper english sausages amongst other dishes the owners ann and norman are real characters not to be missed theyre english but have been in turkey for 20 years the restaurant can be found just past the bazzaar near the friday market and if you prefere the local turkish dishes the best place to go for them is the little side streets there you will find the best authentic dishes and really cheap

Theres bargains around everywhere just take your time wander round and remember your on holiday so make the most of it and enjoy it and im sure u will grow to love it as i have

I would recommed this hotel. Alan is still there! and he is a chap that always remembers peoples names. Kirsty and friend booked for beginning of August and then both daughters in September. Even friends with the 'happy' owner. Alan and the owner can never do enough for us. All except the hill you climb very handy for Bar Street! celb (6).gif . Very reasonable on prices we now book direct with them. good.gif

I have never actually stayed there but my family have and really enjoyed it. I have been a few time for a turkish bath and a massage, and Alan makes you feel at ease. Even if you are not staying there it is a nice day out by the pool and then a nice turkish bath.
