    Hi

I just wanted to ask if anyone knew about the recent bomb in Kusadasi. Do you know where or why it went off and is it safe for my parents to travel there?
    Many thanks, great website.

Last month a man found a bomb in the toilets near Atatürk status, just near centrum, and next to the harbour. He called Police, & a Policeman was killed and 5 hurt. Not sure, but someone told me it was a Kurdish separatist movment which did it. Its very sad for the policemen, but i think Kus is a safe place, maybe the policemen did a mistake when it went off? Dont no...

I think Turkey is one of the safest country for tourists but unfortunetly such things happens in every country ..Of course its very hard to say whats gonna happen in future ..it happens everywhere in USA in italy ...But you can be sure that Turkish security department are more and more sensitive about it .. if you ask my opinion you can come turkey with your family and enjoy your time without worries .
Also that was a time ago its better to forget it .

Its also worth noticing that The UK Foreign Office have not increased their rating on Turkey as a terrorist threat as a result of that incident.

The policeman who died following the bomb incident was in fact the head of the local bomb disposal team. He never liked to wear a Flak jacket. Had he been wearing one he may well have survived. 1 other policeman was also injured. No one else was hurt. I know because I witnessed it. More people would have been hurt in fact if the guy hadn't been bending over the bomb at the time it went off. It is thought it was booby trapped. The policeman who died did not die at the scene but about 4-5hrs later. The terrorists were caught leaving on the Samos ferry the same day. I live here and I feel it safe. I'm more likely to be run over by a Dolmus!

Why did the chicken cross the road? Well the way the Turkish drive he might as well because no where is safe!
