Hiya, im going back to Kus in 3 weeks time and I wondered if anyone had stayed at the Talat hotel or the Alp hotel and if so which one was the best one and how close were they to the town centre?

    thanks

I found some information through google for you:

Talat - Its a 2 star hotel and its a small family run hotel. Its close to the centre of Kus and only 1.2km from the beach. The hotel offers a cafe, bar, lounge serving a variety of drinks and snacks, swimming pool, sun terrace with sun beds and parasols, 24 hour reception, local satellite TV within the lounge, meeting facilities, laundry service (chargeable) and safety deposit boxes (chargeable). The hotel consists of 30 units, each with a private bathroom, air conditioning, music, telephone and a balcony or terrace. Air conditioning and 24 hour room service are available (payable locally), Baby cots are available upon request and will count as 1 person in the room and not in addition to the maximum occupancy.

    I found 1 review:

The review was from Sept 2006 and the user rated the hotel 4/10

Overall this hotel is very basic. The rooms were kept clean but the bathrooms were very rundown. Breakfast was the usual boiled eggs, cheese, toast and jam, which was ok.

Not much atmosphere at this hotel, you did feel like you were being watched. Not very impressed with the TV lounge, bar, dining area. People seemed to gather in front of the TV and stare at us when we left the hotel!

My real complaint was the swimming pool, it looks nothing like the picture! It is absolutely tiny, and the sun area is also small. We took 3 15 year old boys with us on this holiday, and they felt uncomfortable here, and were told to 'be quiet' in the pool during the day time.

We luckily transferred to the Sahin Yavasi after just one night at the Talat.

    I found 3 photos also:

Alp - This hotel is rated 3 star, was renovated in 2004 and has 50 rooms spread over 6 floors. All rooms have a balcony, shower, toilet, music, Tv, air condition, hair drier, Direct Dial Telephone. The hotel also has a Swimming Pool, Children Swimming Pool, big garden, volleyball, table tennis, darts.

I found a review, its a bit vague though:

The user rated the hotel 4/5

I found this hotel to be most accommodating, excellant service, polite and efficient staff. Good facilities. I did not find any fault with the accommodation and would if in the area again stay at the hotel.

    Found a few photos also:

    Hi,

We have an apartment near to Talat 2 and Sahin Yuvasi. Good area to be in as it\'s central, but people who I have met have told me both the Talats are basic.
A good hotel in the same area is the Club Hotel Lion. you can contact him via his website and he will also transfer from the airport.

    Hope this helps pro.gif
