I tend to try local dishes at dinner time, for breakfast and snacks I like just toast or omelettes, nothing too heavy but at dinner I like to try something new-- in Sept I tried Turkish Spring Rolls and something called Moussaka which I'd never had before which was mince beef and cheese and mushrooms and aubergines cooked in a dish and broguht out still sizzling-- amongst other things like proper kebabs and Gozleme (hope that is spelled correctly).

I am adventurous enough for dinner. We had Mcds once or twice but only on nights we came out late or we had already eaten a good late lunch and weren't in the mood of a sit down dinner. I wouldn't be a huge McDs fan but it serves its purpose now and then! original.gif

Deadly Earthquake Hits Eastern Turkey
At least 38 people are reported to have been killed in an earthquake in eastern Turkey.

The government's crisis centre says many of the victims were from the small villages of Okcular, Yukari Kanatli and Kayali, where the quake with a preliminary magnitude of 6 flattened stone or mud-brick houses and minarets of mosques.

Some 60 people were reported injured.

TV reports said the dead included four young sisters trapped in the rubble in their sleep.

Rescue workers were trying to pull out one other people from debris in Okcular village.

The Istanbul-based Kandilli Observatory said the quake in Elazig province happened at 4:32 am (0232 GMT) on Monday and was centred near the village of Basyurt.
